Narconon visits Tallinn, Estonia! |

In the beginning of February 2008 Narconon Europe represented by Deputy Executive Director Jørgen Jørgensen, and the Marketing Secretary Elena Smetanina visited the capital of Estonia, Tallinn. |
Narconon Europe had got an invitation from the Estonian Association Parents Against Drugs to come and do a lecture about the Narconon program, followed by a Narconon 1st Step Program where the participants could learn how to get addicts off drugs using non-medical methods. |

The lecture took place in the building where Parents against Drugs had their office. Many different kind of public attended the lecturer. There were parents, drug-users, psychologists and medical doctors from other rehab programmes. Jørgen Jørgensen gave a short description of what drugs are, what it does to the person, and why people in general takes drugs. It further went into how come people will not give up drugs, as it is the only solution they have for their problems or bad conditions. Jørgen Jørgensen explained how the Narconon program try through study and drills learn people alternative solutions to their problems so drugs is not need as a “solution”.

The participants were working with each other and through helping each other they could feel on their own body the effects of the assists. (Assist = something which helps. A series of different physical exercises which ease up the pains and discomfort in the body). |

The workshop was held in the premises of the AIDS-I Tugikeskus (an Estonian organisation, which help addicts through a harm-reduction program).
Around 40 people showed up during the next 2 days. |
After a short introduction the participants started to learn how to apply the different assists developed by L. Ron Hubbard which help people addicted to drugs to get off the discomfort withdrawal of drugs cause.

The participants also learned how to mix a calcium-magnesium drink named “Cal-Mag” and the importance of using vitamins. It was new for many that one can approach drug addiction from a non medical viewpoint. |

We were pleased to see how people from various drug rehab programmes could find together and learn from each other. We hope we can continue to work together in the future.
